In the lives of students, Prom night is a bridge that connects their High School days to those of College. But there is just one small difference: the bridge vanishes the moment you step on the other side and then, there’s no turning back. It makes the students step inside the world of adulthood. But the film Prom doesn’t talk about the traversing, rather it talks about just the night where dancing is only a brief portrayal of all that one has been planning to do.
Nova Prescott is busy, and is confused. And just like her, all other students are doubtful of how and what to plan, where to shop and who to discuss with. Jesse has to help Nova in her Prom planning if he wants to avoid suspension. This puts the stage for Nova and Jesse’s relationship to flourish. Nova is apprehensive and doubtful of him, but the more she thinks that she can avoid him, the more she gets drawn towards him. What can she do? Can she put everything in the hands of Jesse and behave submissively, or would she, like Tyler and Mei, start contemplating on keeping things secret. Watch Prom online because the night that it tells us about, it’s either a thing of the past for most of us or a moment not likely to come in the near future.
