Watch Pina To See How Legends Live on Even After They Leave!

Pina is a documentary that is a tribute to the German choreographer, Pina Bausch. She was part of a revolution that emerged in the form of the Tanztheater style of dance. This genre of dance that finds its roots in the expressionist movement catapulted the very art of dancing to another level. Athletic movements mixed with unrestrained expression of feelings, formed the foreground of this contemporary élan of dancing. Watch Pina and witness riveting dance performances that are enhanced with the 3D approach of the film.

The film encompasses archival footage of Bausch’s work, and a collection of her exquisite choreographies, by giving a glimpse of her stellar solo performances. So, to get an exhilarating experience with the panache of this style of dance, you can catch up with the film here. It was director Wim Wenders’ long-cherished dream, to present Bausch’s sterling dance performances with her troupe from the Wuppertal Dance Theater. The artist’s sudden death in 2009, after being diagnosed with cancer nipped that dream in the bud. Nevertheless scenes of a ballerina dancing in the landscape marked by concrete walls, and recollection of all those, who worked with Bausch, reflect Pina’s work perfectly.
